I raised Sprocket for Canine Companions for Independence,
to be a service dog. Ultimately, he turned out to be more of a party boy than a working dog, so I adopted him as my pet. Now he is my partner in canine musical freestyle. Dog dancing rocks!
I adopted Kiva from a border collie rescue group. She's a tireless fetchaholic who loves agility, tricks, and freestyle, but herding sheep is heaven. Just look at her go!

Ann Howard Creel wrote
two American Girl books,
Nicki and Thanks to Nicki,
about a girl who raises a service dog, named after my golden retriever Sprocket. Check them out!
